6 Million Americans Face Tax Penalty For Lack Of Health Insurance In 2016

By 2016, after the launch of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) health insurance exchange and individual health insurance mandate, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that six million Americans will likely pay a tax penalty for failure to obtain health insurance. These projections are based on an estimate that there will be 30 million uninsured adults and children in 2016.
