HHS Awards $19 Million To Fund Creation of 32 New Community Health Centers

On September 13, 2013, the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded $19 million to fund 32 new community health centers. The new centers were funded through a provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA). The 19 newly funded health centers are in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia (4 centers), Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri (2), North Carolina (2), Nevada, New York (2), Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Dakota, Texas (3), Utah (3), and Virginia (3).
