Medical Per Capita Claims Costs Projected To Increase About 8% In 2014

In 2014, medical per capita claims costs for all health benefit plan types are projected to increase at a rate of about 8%, according to a survey of managed care organizations, health insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, and third-party administrators. For all plans bundled with prescription drugs, the range of increases for 2014 are projected to be between 7% and 9.7%; which is a slower growth than 2013, when increases were projected at a range of 7.9% to 10%.
