During fiscal years 2012 and 2013, 40 states implemented or were planning to implement significant managed care initiatives that will increase the prevalence of Medicaid managed care. In fiscal year 2012, all states except Alaska, New Hampshire, and Wyoming operated comprehensive managed care programs.
