40 States Increased Prevalence of Medicaid Managed Care In 2012 Or Are Planning To In 2013
During fiscal years 2012 and 2013, 40 states implemented or were planning to implement significant managed care initiatives that will increase the prevalence of Medicaid managed care. In fiscal year 2012, all states except Alaska, New Hampshire, and Wyoming operated comprehensive managed care programs. Twenty states implemented Medicaid managed care initiatives in 2012; and 35, including New Hampshire, are planning to do so in 2013.
