40 Jurisdictions Receive Mental Health Court Grants
Forty jurisdictions in 35 states and territories recently received mental health court grants from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) through the Mentally Ill Offender Treatment and Crime Reduction Act of 2004 (MIOTCRA). The awards included nine jurisdictions who received new planning grants of up to $50,000; another 27 organizations received planning and implementation grants with a maximum award of $250,000 for 30 months; and an additional five communities received expansion grants with a maximum award of $200,000 for 24 months.
