Austin, Texas Local MHMR Center Joins Countywide Health Care Collaborative

On November 1, 2012, Austin Travis County Integral Care (ATCIC), the local state-funded mental health and mental retardation (MHMR) center in Austin, Texas, joined a countywide Community Care Collaborative (CCC) formed by Central Health and Seton Healthcare Family. By joining the collaborative, ATCIC seeks to help the county expand and further integrate behavioral health services with primary care. The CCC will oversee a health care delivery system for up to 50,000 low income, uninsured county residents with chronic illnesses. ATCIC manages an annual budget of $57 million to provide community-based Medicaid behavioral health and developmental disability services . . .
