Acadia Healthcare Acquires Behavioral Centers Of America LLC & AmiCare Behavioral Centers

On November 27, 2012, Acadia Healthcare Company Inc. announced it was buying Behavioral Centers of America LLC for $145 million and AmiCare Behavioral Centers for $113 million in two separate transactions with an aggregate value of $258 million. The two deals will add 600 beds, increasing Acadia’s licensed beds by 24%, from 2,500 across 20 states to 3,100 across 21 states. Acadia expects both deals to close by the end of December 2012. Behavioral Centers of America, based in Nashville, Tennessee, owns and operates freestanding inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, psychiatric specialty units within medical-surgical . . .
