Half Of Patients Want Proactive Interaction With Health Care Providers
Half of health care consumers believe that texts, emails or smartphone apps with tips, reminders and encouragement from a health care professional could have helped them avoid a health problem in the past. Nearly two-thirds of those participating in a recent survey (64%) said they were interested in automated digital reminders from health care professionals to help them maintain a physician-prescribed ongoing treatment plan. Patients with chronic health conditions enrolled in health and wellness programs for diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or smoking cessation had the highest interest in mobile support, with 74.8% of this group agreeing . . .
