January 19, 2004 Arizona Launches CoppeRx Drug Plan Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano unveiled a new discount drug program for seniors on January 7, 2004, designed to be cheaper than the existing state program and better than the federal Medicare program plans. The new plan, CoppeRx, will have the same discounts as the current plan of 15% for brand name drugs and up to 55% for generics. RxAmerica, which won a competitive bid in 2001 to administer the Arizona Drug Discount Program, will administer the CoppeRx program which replaces it.
