January 22, 2007 Former WellCare Director Agwunobi Named Florida AHCA Secretary On December 14, 2006, Andrew Agwunobi, M.D., was named secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). The appointment by governor-elect Charlie Crist came the day after Dr. Agwunobi resigned from WellCare Health Plans, Inc., (WellCare) board of directors. WellCare has not yet filled the position.
