January 29, 2001 NASWs New York City Chapter Finds Faults with Managed Care The New York City Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Critical Incident Project released a report in December 2000 which concludes that consumers and health care professionals find managed care companies seriously flawed. The intent of the report, Warning: Managed Care May Be Hazardous To Your Health, was to collect information about the affect of managed care on patients and their providers and learn when access to care and/or treatment does not go smoothly.
