February 14, 2000 UnitedHealthcare Sued For Taking Children's Hospital Off List A class action lawsuit has been filed against UnitedHealthcare by a group of policyholders for deleting Children’s Hospital from its network. Lawyers for the plaintiffs in the suit accused UnitedHealthcare of "bait and switch" tactics by removing Children’s Hospital, its sub-specialists, and its pediatricians from its provider network after most policies were purchased or renewed by the end of 1999.
