February 27, 2006 Alabama Transfers 140 Prisoners to Privately-Run Louisiana Facility to Ease OvercrowdingOn February 13, 2006, the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) began transferring 140 male inmates to Louisiana facilities to ease overcrowding in Alabama correctional facilities. The inmates will be housed at the privately run LCS Corrections Services (LCS) Pine Prairie Correctional Center in Pine Prairie, Louisiana.
