March 24, 2003 State of Maine is Ordered to Hire Expert to Remedy Department of Behavioral and Developmental Services Problems A federal court ordered the State of Maine to hire an independent mental health expert within six days of the ruling to examine and remedy the problems the Department of Behavioral and Developmental Services is having in providing timely in-home treatment to mentally ill and disabled children.
