April 15, 2002Eastern Panhandle Training Center Declares BankruptcyIn March of 2002, Eastern Panhandle Training Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The Center is a not-for-profit agency that served more than 350 clients and employs as many as 400. The Center provides employment, vocational training, personal development and community participation for those with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. Encompassing 15 residential homes and two work centers, the Center estimates its debts at between $500,000 and $1 million.
