April 16, 2001 Bush Names National AIDS Policy Director President Bush has named Scott H. Evertz as the director of his White House Office of National AIDS Policy. Evertz is a fund-raising executive, head of the Wisconsin Log Cabin Republicans, and formerly a development official for an AIDS ministry. He also has political ties to Tommy G. Thompson, the former Wisconsin governor who is now Secretary of Health and Human Services.
