May 22, 2000Utah Seeks Initial Assessment Services To Juveniles The State of Utah is seeking proposals for an initial assessment for youth who have been referred to the Juvenile Court system. The referrals may be for any offense within the court's jurisdiction. After completing a preliminary inquiry, the probation officers may need additional information to complete a recommendation to the court and an initial assessment would be requested. The youth involved would range from age 10 through 17 years, both male and female. The Utah State Juvenile Court uses the balanced approach philosophy, public safety, accountability, and competency development . . .
