May 22, 2006 Connecticut Autism Services Pilot to Begin October 2006 On May 3, 2006, the Connecticut Legislature approved Senate Bill 703, and HB 584, which allocated $1 million in funding for an Autism Spectrum Disorder pilot program. Previously, the state only provided home or community-based services (HCBS) to individuals diagnosed with mental retardation, and those with other developmental disorders were unable to receive state funding for HCBS.
