20 EHR Vendors Account For 72% Of U.S. Physician Practice Market

Twenty electronic health record (EHR) vendors control about 72% of the United States physician practice market. The penetration rate of the 20 EHR vendors varies by physician practice size. Across all practice sizes, the five EHR vendors with the largest physician practice market share are Epic Systems Corporation at 11.6%, followed by eClinicalWorks at 10.2%, Allscripts at 8.7%, Practice Fusion at 6.7%, and NextGen Healthcare at 5.5%. The remaining 15 EHR vendors in the top 20 hold less than 5% of the market.
