Parkland Hospital To Sublease Beds From Dallas-Area Nursing Homes

On February 24, 2015, the Dallas County Commissioners Court approved leases between the county’s Parkland Memorial Hospital and 12 nursing homes. Parkland is participating in the Texas Medicaid Nursing Facility Upper Payment Limit (UPL) program, established in 2012. The program allows non-state-government owned nursing facilities serving Texas Medicaid beneficiaries to receive supplemental payments. Parkland officials and the county anticipate that the arrangement will add post-acute care capacity to the Dallas health care system.
