U.S. Health Care Spending Growth Increased 5% In 2014
National health care spending growth in 2014 is projected to have increased by 5%. In December 2014, health care spending was 5.6% higher than health spending in December 2013. During 2014, health care spending grew at a faster pace than the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is projected to have increased by 3.8%.
These findings were reported in “Health Sector Economic Indicators, Insights from Monthly National Health Spending Data Through December 2014” by researchers affiliated with the Altarum Institute’s Center For Sustainable Health Spending.
