Missouri Awards Medicaid Managed Care Contracts To Aetna, Centene & WellCare

On March 4, 2015, Missouri awarded MO HealthNet Medicaid managed care contracts to Aetna, Centene Corp. and WellCare; the new contracts feature a variety of new provisions, including wellness incentives. Under the new contracts, which begin July 1, 2015, the three companies will enroll Medicaid beneficiaries in 54 of Missouri’s 114 counties. The contract has a one-year initial term followed by two one-year renewal options. On April 13, 2015, MO HealthNet launched an open enrollment period; enrollment is mandatory for non-disabled beneficiaries.
