Feds Collect $3.3 Billion Through Joint Efforts To Combat Health Care Fraud
During federal fiscal year (FFY) 2014, the Departments of Justice and Health (DOJ) and Human Services (HHS) Health Care Fraud and Abuse Control (HCFAC) program recovered $3.3 billion from individuals and companies that attempted to defraud federal health programs. Since its creation in 1997, the HCFAC has returned more than $27.8 billion to the Medicare Trust Fund.
