SAFY Awarded $44 Million Contract For South Carolina Community-Based Family Support Services
On April 23, 2015, Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth of South Carolina (SAFY) announced it was selected for a $44 million contract to provide statewide community-based child welfare prevention services (CBPS). The contract began April 1, 2015, and runs through March 31, 2020. SAFY is the lead agency managing services delivered by child welfare provider organizations participating in the SAFY Empowering Families Network. SAFY estimates that CBPS services will impact more than 6,000 families each year. The services are offered to families referred by the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS).
