July 22, 2002 Ruth Cooper Center To Purchase Charter Glade Hospital The Ruth Cooper Center in Fort Myers made a formal offer on June 14, 2002 to purchase the former 144-bed Charter Glade psychiatric hospital. The private non-profit mental health center signed a purchase contract for the former hospital property in February and had a 90-day due-diligence period to make a final decision, which was extended to June 14.
