July 24, 2006 Cyberonics Receives FDA Approval to Combine VNS Device Manuals for Epilepsy & Depression Cyberonics Inc., announced on July 12, 2006, that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has decided to allow the company to create a new comprehensive treatment manual for its Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Device by combining the manual for refractory epilepsy with the one for treatment-resistant depression. VNS Therapy has been approved for treating both disorders, and until receiving FDA approval, was required to maintain two individual treatment manuals and labeling formats.
