July 25, 2005 HHS Secretary Names Medicaid Advisory Commission Members HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt announced on July 8, 2005, the 13 voting members and 15 non-voting members of an advisory commission charged with identifying reforms necessary to stabilize and strengthen Medicaid. The Commission will advise the Secretary on ways to modernize the Medicaid program so that it can provide high-quality health care to its beneficiaries in a financially sustainable way. The Commission shall submit two reports to the Secretary for his consideration and submission to Congress.
