August 7, 2000 Health Care Mergers and Acquisitions Rise for First Time In Two Years Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the health care services industry witnessed its first increase in two years during the second quarter of 2000, with 17% more deals than the previous quarter. According to Irving Levin Associates Second Quarter 2000 Health Care Merger and Acquisition Report, there were 135 health care mergers and acquisitions announced during April to June 2000.
