August 30, 2004 New York Announces New Assisted Living Legislation On August 12, 2004, Governor George Pataki, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver announced an agreement on new assisted living legislation that will provide New York's seniors with greater consumer protections and more long term care options.
