September 19, 2005 Louisiana Psychologists Prescribe Psychotropics As Result of LawIn April 2005, Louisiana passed RxP legislation, which gives trained psychologists the authority to prescribe psychotropics. The bill passed nearly 2 to 1 in the Louisiana House (62 to 31) and nearly the same in state's Senate (21-16) and Governor Kathleen Blanco signed the bill into law on May 6, 2005.
