November 14, 2005 Hospitals & Clinics Dominate Regional Health Information Organizations Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIO), the entities that are forming to implement a nationwide system to securely transmit patient information, are dominated by health care provider organizations. 64% of provider organizations are participating in a RHIA or planning to participate. The most commonly shared information in RHIOs are emergency department, diagnostic, and clinical data.
