The Technologies Payers Want

Payers have "preferences" for communication and data transfer technologies – over the years, I have seen payer preference for technologies that include incentives to use technology, mandates for electronic claims submissions, Meaningful Use incentives, and managed care authorization requirements make operating without electronic systems difficult.
The question for provider organization executives is, what emerging technologies will payers push – either through mandates or preferential treatment?
