Fresno County Jail & Corizon Agree To Support County’s Settlement To Improve Health Care Services

On May 28, 2015, Fresno County, California entered a proposed settlement to a 2011 class action complaint in which the county will ensure that inmates in the Fresno County Jail would receive adequate health care services. Under the agreement the county Sheriff and Corizon Health, the county’s new jail medical services contractor as of June 2014, will ensure that inmates with chronic illness receive needed medications; pregnant inmates will receive timely and appropriate prenatal, obstetric, and post-partum care; and suicidal inmates will be given risk assessments.
