Florida Healthy Kids Awards Five Contracts For Child-Only Health Insurance Plans

On June 11, 2015, the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation (FHKC) Board of Directors announced it had awarded four Healthy Kids contracts for subsidized Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) plans and one contract for a full-pay non-CHIP plan for children in families ineligible for subsidized CHIP coverage. The four contracts for subsidized CHIP plans went to Amerigroup Florida, Inc.; Coventry Healthcare of Florida, Inc.; United Healthcare of Florida, Inc.; and Wellcare Healthplans Inc., d/b/a/ Staywell Kids. The contract for an unsubsidized plan, also known as the full-pay option, was awarded to Sunshine Health.
