New Jersey Medicaid Cancels Behavioral Health ASO Procurement

The New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) Medicaid program has canceled its plans to release a request for proposals (RFP) to seek a behavioral health administrative services organization (ASO). The state had intended to release the RFP in the spring of 2015. However, on June 15, 2015, the DHS Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (DMAHS) informed its Medical Assistance Advisory Council (MAAC) that it had discontinued the plan to release an ASO RFP.

According to the MAAC meeting presentation, DMAHS is completing an analysis of fiscal and utilization data to determine whether to implement managed behavioral health . . .
