Texas Medicaid Managed HCBS Program Improved Quality Of Care For Disabled Members With Chronic Health Conditions

For adult Texas Medicaid beneficiaries with disabilities who were enrolled in Medicaid managed care programs that provided home-and- community-based services (HCBS), the quality of chronic disease care linked to acute events improved while that provided during routine encounters appeared unaffected. The beneficiaries had been enrolled in fee-for-service (FFS) or primary care case management (PCCM) before mandatory enrollment in the Texas Medicaid STAR+PLUS managed care plans.
