Los Angeles County To Increase County Wages For In-Home Supportive Services Providers

On June 18, 2015, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (BOS) voted to increase the county’s hourly rate from $9.65 an hour, to $11.18 over the next year and a half for home care workers who provide assistance to people receiving In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS). IHSS workers are hired directly by the person receiving IHSS. The county Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) handles the payroll process for IHSS recipients, but the IHSS providers are not DPSS employees.
