Ohio Medicaid Implements Reimbursement For Telemedicine Services

During calendar year 2015, the Ohio Department of Medicaid began reimbursing for certain services delivered via telemedicine technologies. The state defines telemedicine as a real-time time video communication between a health care consumer at the originating site and a medical professional at a remote site. Physicians and licensed psychologists may be eligible to deliver telemedicine services if the distance between the originating site and remote site is greater than five miles.
