41% Of Health Plans Sold Through The Health Insurance Marketplace Have Narrow Networks

In 2014, 41% of silver-level qualified health plans (QHPs) sold through the state and federal Health Insurance Marketplaces had narrow provider organization networks that included 25% or fewer of the physicians in the plan coverage area. Across the states, the percentage of silver-level QHPs in each state with narrow networks ranged from 83% in Georgia, to 13% in Idaho and North Carolina.
