Corizon To Exit Florida Prison Health Care Contract By May 31, 2016
On November 30, 2015, Corizon Health notified the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) that it planned to exit its inmate health services contract for DOC facilities in three regions, effective May 31, 2016. Under its $1.2 billion contract that began in October 2013, Corizon is responsible for providing primary care and specialty medical, dental, and mental health services for about 75,000 inmates at 41 DOC facilities. By May 31, 2016, Corizon will end services at all 41 DOC facilities.
