Ameritox Launches Maryland Pilot Program To Reduce Overprescribing Of Opioids In Workers Comp
On November 24, 2015, Ameritox announced that its subsidiary PRIUM had launched a pilot program with Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company (Chesapeake) in Maryland to reduce overprescribing of opioids for workers receiving workers compensation benefits.  Chesapeake is the the state-funded workers compensation program.  For the pilot program, which started in September 2015, medical professionals employed by Chesapeake review claim files to identify specific high-risk cases in which injured workers are prescribed high opioid dosages.
