Kansas To Audit Adequacy & Cost Effectiveness Of Its Privatized Foster Care System
On January 13, 2016, the Kansas Legislative Post Audit Committee authorized an audit of the adequacy and cost effectiveness of the privatized foster care system managed by the state Department for Children and Families (DCF). The audit statement of work calls for the Legislative Post Audit staff to determine if the DCF foster care contractors have sufficient capacity to provide necessary services and whether the state’s privatized system has significantly affected state costs or outcomes for children and families.
