Texas Medicaid To Launch STAR Kids Managed Care Program For Children With Disabilities In Fall 2016

In fall 2016, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid program will launch the new statewide STAR Kids managed care plan for approximately 180,000 Medicaid beneficiaries under age 21 with disabilities. In January 2016, HHSC began holding public information sessions for families and for provider organizations that serve children to be enrolled in STAR Kids. Currently, children and young adult Medicaid beneficiaries with disabilities receive medical services through the Texas Medicaid STAR managed care plans or through the STAR+PLUS plans if they are also enrolled in home- and community-based long-term services through a Medicaid . . .
