23% Of ACOs Use Paper Charts To Integrate Clinical Systems
About 23% of accountable care organizations (ACOs) and ACO-like entities use paper charts to facilitate clinical integration of systems and promote efficiency and better coordination of care. About 31% of ACOs and ACO-like entities are using a single electronic medical record (EMR) system to connect participating provider organizations, and 26% use an internal Health Information Exchange (HIE) to connect provider organizations. About 59% have provider organizations using more than one EMR system.
