Nebraska Selects Aetna, Centene & UnitedHealthcare For Integrated Medicaid Managed Care Plans
On February 5, 2016, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced it had selected Aetna Better Health of Nebraska, Nebraska Total Care (Centene), and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan for the state’s new integrated physical/behavioral health Medicaid managed care program. The program, known as Heritage Health, has total annual spending estimated at $1 billion. The five-year Heritage Health contracts have the option for two additional one-year renewal terms. The three plans are slated for statewide launch on January 1, 2017; they will be responsible for providing physical health, behavioral health, and pharmacy services.
