Minnesota Medicaid Health Homes Saved $1 Billion From 2010 To 2014

Minnesota’s health care homes program saved the state Medicaid program and the federal Medicare program about $1 billion over five years of operation from 2010 through 2014. Clinics participating in a health care home model of care outperformed other clinics on quality measures. Medical costs for enrollees served by a health care home clinic were 9% lower than costs for enrollees who did not have a health care home clinic for primary care.
