Tufts Medical Center Uses Virtual Reality For Pre-Surgical Patient Education
Tufts Medical Center is using virtual reality technology to provide patients preparing for surgery with a virtual tour of the surgery. The medical center is working with Primacy, a marketing firm, to create 360-degree virtual reality videos as part of a patient education initiative. In the videos, Tufts physicians use the virtual reality technology to show pre-procedural consent, introduce the relevant staff involved in the procedure, and explain the medical equipment that will be used during the procedure.
