Hospital CEO Turnover Rate Averages 18%

Turnover rates averaged 18% among chief executive officers (CEO) at hospitals in the United States in 2015. Across the state, the CEO turnover rate ranges from the high of 30% in Missouri to the low of 9% in Maine and 7% in Wisconsin.

These findings were reported by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). The ACHE analyzed CEO turnover rates based on changes in hospital leadership reported to the American Hospital Association in an annual survey conducted since the 1990s.
