CMS Approves Medicare Rate Increase For New York State Fully Integrated Dual Eligible Plans
In January 2016, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved a shared risk adjustment rate increase for New York State’s Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) plans to account for historic under-prediction of costs to manage care for people fully eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. CMS adjusted the Medicare Part A and B rates, retroactive to January 1, 2016. The Medicare rates increased by up to 10.5% in some regions, and by 5.7% in Manhattan and the Bronx.
