Fulton County, Georgia To Outsource County Mental Health Services

On April 21, 2016, the Fulton County, Georgia Board of Commissioners approved a proposal from the county Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to outsource mental health services that are currently provided by county-run facilities. The plan calls for the county to reorganize DBHDD and to issue a request for proposal (RFP) by the end of June 2016 to contract with a network of provider organizations to deliver mental health services, operations, and functions. The new contracts would go live in early 2017. Developmental disabilities programs will not be affected by the change.
